A kids creativity workshop with Kathi Burke at Hen’s Teeth on the 22nd of May.
Hen’s Teeth & Kathi Burke host a kids creativity and illustration workshop on Sunday 22nd of May. The workshop will center around the imaginary town ‘Quirkyville’, a template of Dublin 8, in which children will be encouraged to let their imagination run free and work with Kathi on creating their dream town.
The workshop is catered to children aged 3-10. There will be three time slots available for an hour long, small group workshop with Kathi. Community is very important for Hen’s teeth and providing a creative space for Dublin 8, and no better artist than Kathi Burke to host this workshop. Parent’s are welcome to stay in Hen’s Teeth and enjoy a coffee and bite of lunch during the workshop.
The event will run on Sunday the 22nd of May at Hen’s Teeth Store, with three time slots; 12pm- 1pm, 1:30pm- 2:30pm and 3pm- 4pm.
Burke is an illustrator from Co. Waterford, Ireland. She has worked in illustration and design since graduating from the National College of Art and Design in 2012. Her work in commercial illustration has led to projects and campaigns with McDonalds, Vodafone, Bic, RTÉ, The Irish Times, PlayStation, Easons and the HSE. Since 2015 she has illustrated over 30 non-fiction titles with publishers including Gill Books, Bloomsbury Kids, Penguin Random House, Nosy Crow and Macmillan. Her first three bestselling publications in children's non-fiction (Irelandopedia (2015) Historopedia (2016) and Focloiropedia (2017) were a collaboration with her regular teammate, her father John. Her illustrative style is boldly colourful, with a focus on text, humor and references.
