The Hennessy Sound Lounge returns for the third iteration - this time in the brand new, state of the art Hen’s Teeth HiFi Lounge, a listening lounge connected to the gallery, store and restaurant space. Across four nights in November (2nd, 16th, 30th) and December (14th), four of the country’s most talented and accomplished artists will showcase and discuss the records that mean the most to them, in a unique and intimate immersive listening experience.

Join us for the incomparable Hennessy Sound Lounge series, back for the first time since 2019, at Hen’s Teeth Blackpitts in the heart of Dublin 8. A programme of 4 individual nights, whereby the evening’s artist will share their most influential records with the audience over a premium sound system, custom crafted by Toby Hatchett and in-depth conversation hosted by renowned DJ Sally Cinnamon. The experience will be accompanied by deliciously crafted Hennessy cocktails, the defining drink for gathering with friends and absorbing some of the best musical and cultural expression in Ireland. As each of the evenings evolve, listening moves to dancing when the artist of the night wraps up their conversation and gets on the decks for a specially curated DJ set of their favourite tunes.

Tickets at €10 inclusive of a complimentary Hennessy VS + Ginger are available at Eventbrite at this link. Doors open at 7pm, talks are 7.30 - 9pm and DJ party sets are 9.30pm - 12.30am.

As Hennessy continues to work with Irish artists and invest in ever evolving culture, proceeds from ticket sales each night will be donated to a charitable organisation of the artist's choice. Each charity will be personal to them and they’ve shared a few words explaining their choices. Attendees will have the option to donate to these charities at the shows and links to each are shared below. Please donate only if you are in a position to do so.

WEDNESDAY 2ND NOVEMBER || PILLOW QUEENS

Pillow Queens are a 4-piece indie rock band based in Dublin comprising Pamela Connolly, Sarah Corcoran, Cathy McGuinness, and Rachel Lyons. After the phenomenal success of their first record, 2020’s In Waiting, Pillow Queens went on to play bigger venues, festivals, and even The Late Late Show with James Corden. Music became a full time occupation for the band. At a point where most artists would get less personal and inward, Pillow Queens did the opposite. Leave the Light On is their most inward-focused release to date. It’s also very much a record about exploring the unknown, and for yearning. The band have recently just played two sold out Vicar Street shows and have played to crowds across North America and Europe over what has been a busy yet fruitful 2022.

“We’d like to pick TENI as our charity partner. We admire the work that TENI put into advancing the rights and improving the quality of trans people and their families’ lives. There has recently been an increase in violence towards trans people and we would like to contribute to the support available to the people in our trans community.”

WEDNESDAY 16TH NOVEMBER || GOD KNOWS

Rap in Ireland is experiencing a revolutionary period and everyone who knows the scene knows its chief architect. Known for his vividly honest lyricism and electrifying energy wherever he sets foot, God Knows has elevated Irish hip-hop to exponential levels. As part of Rusangano Family, God Knows was the recipient of the Choice Music Prize for 2016’s ‘Let The Dead Bury The Dead’ - the first ever hip-hop record to win the prestigious ‘Album of the Year’ award. As one of the three founders of Narolane records, the label on everyone’s watch list, God Knows is getting ready for the most prolific period of creativity of his life. Earlier this year God Knows made his narolane debut with the release of ‘Glory’ featuring Irish singer Senita. As a collective, narolane’s creative output conveys their ethos with surety, authenticity and unapologetic ambition. That ethos is to be true to what is right, what is excellent and what is unexpected. This commitment to excellence has caught the attention of the world’s most revered cultural commentators and music media, with The NME, NPR, France 24, The Irish Times, The BBC, The Guardian, RTÉ, The Fader, Vice and The New York Times all turning their attention to this revolutionary collective.

Mary’s Meals is my charity of choice because I really like their ethos and mission statement. €18.30 to feed a child is really practical and achievable. Their website and newsletters go into detail on what they are doing on the ground and how the donations are making a difference. I appreciate the transparency. Unfortunately world hunger is still an issue in 2022 and I like Mary’s Meals approach to solving this."

She made great friends for life through these events. The cost of these camps/workshops are covered by chime through their fundraising. It will give me enormous pride to give something back on behalf of myself and my family.”
