Highlighted by New York Times as one of the ‘Best Cookbooks of Fall 2018’

Matty Matheson is known as much for his amazing food as for his zest for life and exuberant personality. In Matty Matheson: A Cookbook Matty shares his memories of the foods, family, friends and personal experiences that have defined who he is—from growing up in Fort Erie, Canada, to finding his love of seafood on Prince Edward Island; struggling and learning as a young chef in Toronto; and, eventually, his rise to popularity as one of the world’s most recognizable food personalities on Viceland’s It’s Suppertime! and Dead Set on Life.

Divided into two parts—Part I: Family and Part II: Cooking School and Restaurants—Matty Matheson offers readers the chance to cook alongside Matty as he reinterprets the flavours of his youth in Canada, through family classics like Seafood Chowder, Scumbo: Dad’s Gumbo, Rappie Pie, and Molasses Bread Pudding, as well as popular dishes from his restaurants in Toronto, including the infamous P&L Burger, Pigtail Tacos, and Lamb Dandan Noodles. These 75 mouthwatering recipes accompany beautiful photographs by Quentin Bacon and Pat O’Rourke of the people, places, and food that make up Matty’s world. His no-nonsense approach makes recipes practical enough for cooks of all abilities while his creativity will entice the more adventurous. Matty Matheson: A Cookbook is a collection of recipes from one of today’s most beloved chefs.
